This is an exceedingly dangerous development; it is a threat to semi-auto rifles including those within California.

If the ATF can justify reclassifying so-called "bump stocks" as NFA devices, the exact same logic could be applied to all AR-15 and Kalashikov rifles which those stocks are made to fit. Because those stocks are not necessary for "bump fire", they merely assist accuracy.

Not so much. ATF can not change existing LAW. All they can do is what they have already done twice. Issue a statement the a "Bump-stock" does not fit the definition of a machine gun in current law.

Let them spend a year or two before reaching that conclusion. Then they can, if they chose, recommend Congress change existing law. But only Congress can change existing law.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

One doesn't need a stock to bump fire, one only needs a couple of fingers. Slippery slope is slippery
