    H.R. 2706, the Financial Institution Customer Protection Act, was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 395 to 2.

          Just a bit of clarification, as even the article summary is incorrect. Operation Chokepoint was an executive action, and was terminated months ago after Trump took office.

          The purpose of this bill is to hamper or negate any FUTURE attempts to re-implement such a scheme.
