It's going to get worse before it gets better and honestly, I can see bloodshed over this (AW "ban") if it happens.

So apparently some personal liberties are worthy of being kept from 'corroding':

      Talk about cherry-picking the constitution.
Clearly the Supreme Court is entirely unprincipled. It is not functioning.

For all the complaints about SCOTUS that we all share, their hesitation to take up any challenges around guns has gone by without us getting anything out of it.

If they aren't taking gun cases on for the most part, why have we been unable to get anything through legislatively? Have we all forgotten how our republic works? Congress can make the laws. The president may use his or her veto power and send it back. While we don't have a veto proof body in either the house, or in particular, the senate, we do have the power to absolutely 100% paralyze anything the other party wants to get done.

No judges confirmed at all. Appropriations strangled to the point of non-existence. Pet projects, gone. We CAN bring them to the table to write protections into federal law for our 2A rights, but, unfortunately we don't have any leadership in the republican party to do so and herein is our problem. Scotus has little to do with anything at the moment. Instead we wasted years and years of Republican control on holding Americans hostage over the debt limit and other completely stupid inane b.s. instead of focusing the republicans to get something done about restoring our rights.

No, it's wasn't "we" that did it, it was the GOP. But you are getting closer and closer to the truth. Now imagine this, what if we had a GOP supermajority in the capital AND a sitting republican from Texas no less in the White House and they still did nothing to cement our gun rights? Oh wait, we did have that. Now reverse that with dems in those positions. They could have pushed all sorts of gun controls down our throats but instead they gave us Obamacare with the government funded single payer option. Oh wait, they cut that part out at the last minute and just forced us all to buy insurance from their billionaire buddies. Severed us up like hor dourves.

Are you seeing a trend? The GOP and the Dems? Same people just working for a different set of billionaires. Everything else is just marketing. Gun rights, pro choice, healthcare, prayer in school. All BS for the single issue voters.

Our republic has been compromised, it's a puppet show and the oligarchy is running it as they see fit. Slowly killing the middle class till all they have are subjugated workers.

That is a fair statement. We have been ineffective in getting the Republicans to do anything. Morale of the story: Voting republican is marginally less vomit inducing than voting for a Dem. They really are almost the same.

Basically, the people around here who shill for Republicans are mostly full of it just like the folks who shill for the Dems. It's unfortunate. We were promised invasions if Obama was re-elected.... Still hasn't happened. We were promised the dissolution of the constitution and U.N. rule would be established... Still hasn't happened, AND we were promised protection of our rights.... Still hasn't happened.

The trend is clear, the Republicans are the party of fairy tales, the Dems are the party of truth and reality, even if I don't like or want the truth they are selling. Seems like opposite day........
