    An E-Mail from Biden on Orlando/AR-15

    This is the e-mail that was sent to me from the White House today. They are really pushing hard. They got 190k signatures on the white house petition, out of 330 million people.

          Doesn't it even occur to them that with Mateen's training and permits, even throughout Europe, and even New Zealand, he would have been able to get permits for the rifle?

          Heck, in Germany, and other countries, he could have had a Full auto!

            "If we ban drugs, nobody will be able to get an illegal drug because they are banned, so there will be no drug use."


            The typical response to the above is "then why have any laws?" to which we can say: "Laws are there to define consequences for breaking the law, not for physically preventing people from doing illegal things. If AR-15 are banned, they will still be available, there will just be penalty for possession and use. What specific penalty will deter a terrorist?"

                Well, technically, the AWB WAS the best advertisement EVER for the AR-15. Colt and Bushmaster sales numbers went dramatically UP in the wake of the Crime Bill.

                  I saw this response to Mr Biden's ideas in an article from the Washington Post article:

                  "President Obama and VP Biden and Ex Sec Hillary claim the AR15 is too lethal a 'Weapon of War' for Civilian ownership, while each advises every American to buy a 12 Gauge Shotgun for defense, which since 1897 Winchester production has been fielded by the US Military as a Weapon of War and is currently fielded. When Black Jack Pershing shot a Turk General's had off in WW1 with the Weapon of War 12 gauge, Turkey formally petitioned the Geneva Convention to declare the 12 Gauge Weapon of War 'too inhumane for warfare.' The DNC advises use of a current 'Weapon of War that is too inhumane for warfare' but pretends that the 22 caliber bullet, designed and intended to inflict less than lethal (survivable wounds) in enemy forces is inherently insanely lethal beyond imagination and of course much more lethal than the 'Weapon of War that is too inhumane for warfare 12 gauge'. The DNC considers American's idiots who believe anything their leaders spew. Anything "

                    Everyone should watch the movie 'The Pianist'. As everyone in the family just stood by as Grandpa was thrown out the balcony window. I will keep my guns for me and my family, and for my boys and theirs... Guns have always been here and for a time you could even get a fully auto from your local hardware store.Now suddenly there is a problem with them? What changed?[coming from a youth minister, I can go deep with this[abortion, divorce, gay marriage, legalizing drugs, etc.] ] God wants to bless our country but why should he? Where are our morals at?.. Still the greatest nation in the world, for now.

                      Not to mention the fact that the murder rate is lower no than it was in the 1960's. And less than half what it was it the 70s and 80s.

                        So how about the top 10 leading causes of death in the United States? These account for 73.6% of all deaths:
                        • Heart disease
                          Solution: Ban red meat, etc.
                        • Cancer (malignant neoplasms)
                          Solution: Ban sunlight, sunlamps, cell phones, high voltage wires, uranium, etc.
                        • Chronic lower respiratory disease
                          Solution: Ban snow skiing, etc.
                        • Accidents (unintentional injuries)
                          Solution: Ban automobiles, ladders, etc.
                        • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases)
                          Solution: Ban atrial Fibrillation, etc.
                        • Alzheimer's disease
                          Solution: Ban copper pots and pans, etc.
                        • Diabetes (diabetes mellitus)
                          Solution: Ban sugar, BMI over 25, etc.
                        • Influenza and pneumonia
                          Solution: Ban travel, etc.
                        • Kidney disease (nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis)

                          ^^ I think you left out one of the most common causes of death in the US- Over the counter and Prescription Drug poisoning.

                          Solution- Ban Medicine!

                          For that matter, how about the leading cause of death in the US- Medical malpractice at @300,000 a year.

                          Solution- Ban Doctors and Hospitals!

                              IX. The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
