Texas: CCW apps going up a lot

What struck me as a contrast to CA was more this part:
From December through February, DPS received 136,000 License to Carry applications compared to just 57,000 over that period last year.

DPS has been forced to increase staffing to handle the volume of applications.
What! Increase staff to efficiently handle business? Whataconcept!

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Because Texans actually care about their citizenry. Their not worried about political correctness. I see them as down to earth good people who are genuinely concerned for the safety of all!

Here in Cali the Lib's are to concerned with plastic bags, high speed rail to nowhere, smoking in breeze ways and smoke from your fire place. The list goes on and on.

Here in Riverside County our sheriff is understaffed and overburdened with CCW applicants. The waiting list is over a year and a half to interview.
Meantime our County is being overrun by AB 109ers. There everywhere . What a shame.

A great number of Texans are carrying on out of state licenses. They're cheaper and less of a hassle to obtain. I carry on an Arizona myself.

I have been waiting for about 30 days now for my Tx carry license. I'm expecting another 60 days until I get it. Should have gotten it as soon as I moved 2 years ago.

Austin is running about 4 months behind on new license apps right now. Renewals are taking >60 days.

I've been helping out at some gun shows here signing people up for the LTC (License To Carry) classes, and the company I work for has been putting on extra classes for the last 6 months to handle the extra traffic. It definitely started heating up around November of last year.

An appointment for Riverside is now over two years out from what I read on the thread yesterday. Pretty soon you will need to apply for the permit and the renewal at the same appointment. With the money most Gov. agencies waste they could hire ten new people.

Shows that Californians [the majority] are stupid
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.
