    CMP Shipping Question

I want to know if I can have my CMP rifle order shipped to AZ and go and pick it up. I was able to buy a Garand at the Western Games in AZ in October cash and carry. I read in Ask Orest Forum that they have no problem shipping it to wherever you want it shipped as long as you have your forms notarized. I know I can't buy a gun out of state but CMP is the exception to this rule. I see no problem with this as long as I register it when I bring it home. Am I wrong? I don't want to find out the hard way.

I am going to assume that you hold a C&R FFL and a COE. If this is indeed the case, then IIRC you can indeed purchase C&R firearms without going through an FFL because you are the FFL for C&R firearms.

If you do not have the C&R FFL and a COE, then I am pretty sure you have (Garand) and will be (CMP) committing Federal Felonies.

I am sure some other people with more detailed knowledge with either confirm my information or tell me I have it all wrong shortly.

or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.

If they ship the rifle to you, they must use the address on the FFL C&R (if you have one). If you pick it up from them or an FFL that out of state, all you need is FFL03. If they ship to your CA address, you need an FFL03 and a COE.

Otherwise, as mentioned, all the felonies.

CMP doesn't need an FFL to ship to or use one to make a transfer. They are special. As per CA law as of 2014, CMP will only ship to an FFL in CA. If they ship to AZ, they don't need to ship to an FFL. When I was at the western games, they legally transferred it to me.
