possibly getting a divorce, how should I protect my guns

Unfortunately I think I'm headed for a divorce. We've only been married for a year and a half. How should I protect my firearms?

Hopefully this is the right area to post this. And also, I don't need lectures or counseling right now about marriage, just property advice. Thanks guys.

Not much you can do unless you have family in another state or you give them to your parents.

sell them to a friend you trust for $1, then buy them back when all is said and done?

Gift them to one of your parents.

As long as you married a decent lady and you been good to her, i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Should worry about keeping the family together over what guns you can/can't keep. My point of view since you asked in a public forum.

                  PM RandyD.

Were the firearms obtained while you were married or before? If before, they're still yours. If while, during the division of property, offset your firearms with something you don't care to have 50% of. That's what I did and it worked for me when it came to some items (not firearms).

                    "I am not a lawyer."

Don't do anything "shady"...selling guns to a buddy for a buck, etc.

Generally property that you bring into a marriage you are allowed to keep, assets purchased during a marriage may be community property.

A really smart thing for you to do would be to go through calgunner "randyd"'s past postings, and read...read...read...

                    Paste these into google search.

                    site:calguns.net randyd community property

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.

I'm worried about her parents manipulating her into screwing me over.

I haven't brought it up yet. Was gonna wait until after the holidays. But if any of these are said, I'll take note.

Some were, some weren't. I'll definitely be talking to this RandyD I guess.
