Firearms and living at work technically.

I work for an apartment complex and they offer a discount on rent for employees. I figured I would be able to save gas and time commuting to work. However if I rent an apartment and work at the same place would this be an issue given my firearms would be in my domicile unless going to the range. Would I be required to notify my employer?

It is also the city of LA which I know I cant have any ammo shipped there but I don't know if they have any other wacky laws.

Your apartment is your home, not your work. The fact that your apartment happens to be in the complex you work at is irrelevant.
You, you, and you: Panic. The rest of you, come with me.
Incoming fire has the right of way.

^ what he said, your still paying rent and have all the rights that go along with that. Even if they let you have it rent free it is still your home.

FYI there is no law against having ammo shipped to L.A.

There is a city ordinance requiring retailers who sell ammo here to get a thumbprint. It's on the seller, not you, and it's obviously aimed at brick and mortar.

Even though some sites won't do it, I have had many shops ship ammo here without a problem.

Bonus: You live in Canoga Park so most sites won't bat an eye at your address unless they have entered restricted zip code ranges into their system

I love Thousand Oaks but the drive to Wilshire and La Brea is torture I spend about 4 hours a day driving. Plus I have V8 Hemi which loves gasoline. If anyone knows a faster / less traffic route then the 101 please PM me. Sorry to take this off topic.

Snipe think of it like this.

If it was your office they (your employer) could Walk right in. If
It is your home they cannot.

Having your firearms in your home is what you are doing.

If you depart from your house before 4am, you'll be arrive at your destination within 30 minutes.
