    Transporting a Knife

I know this probably doesn't belong here, but I don't know where to put it so may as well put it here.

I recently bought a little pock knife about 4.5 inches long with a pointed tip and a seat belt cutter. My intention is that I just want to have a tool that can cut the seat belt or break the window in case I'm trapped in the car. Since this could be considered a "weapon," I like to know is it legal to carry such a thing in your car, and are there some kind of laws regarding having a little knife in your car like those that applied to guns? If anyone knows, please advise. PC included would be ideal.

    Bought this from Amazon

    Thanks

The knife laws sticky is here : http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...18&postcount=6

Short answer: state law is fine with that; check with your home county ordinances - state law does not prevent lower jurisdictions from creating their own (misdemeanor/infraction) crimes.
ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Thanks Librarian. Just to be safe, I replace it with this. Since I am clueless about knife laws, I play it safe. Hate to be charged with something as stupid as a knife, thereby, giving up my gun rights.
