Traveling to another city/hotel with my handgun for vacation ...

What are the laws when staying at a hotel with a firearm? Or is it even possible?? I carry my firearms in my trunk locked up because I like to go to the range during lunch hours from time to time ... But what are the laws if going to another city ...at a hotel ... with my firearm??

Your hotel room is you home, albeit for the night. Same rules apply, it is your home.

I usually take my pistol when working out of town. I don't usually stay in the best of areas.

Depends on the city and state...

Are you asking about travel in CA only?

I always travel with a firearm and carry it in the room. But I carry a lock box and cable so if I need to leave it in the room unattended I can lock it up.
