moving to california, just a few questions..

I am originally from Wisconsin. So, I am pretty used to a lot of non-California things.

But, as luck has it I now have an offer I cannot refuse and will be in the south Bay area pretty soon..

So, I have a small collection comming along from Washington State with me..

a pair of 1911's ( Sig Saur and Taurus )
a Norinco Tokerov ( hay, it was some dirt cheap commie trash, in the original box )
A desert Eagle .50
a Glock 21


I have not had a lot of time to get to a good rifle range...

But I have a Mosini Naget in stock condition
another one that is re-barreled and being rebuilt into a nice cheap 800 yard tack nailer
and of course a cheap norinco sks, again it was 100 bucks at the time.. but its the piece I have had the longest..

So, the real question as a newly minted state resident will any of these be a problem..

Note also, I will not xfer any of these in California.. If I cannot bring them in they will find a new home in Washington state..

All of the pistols should be OK. You cannot import any magazines with a capacity of over 10 rounds.

The rifles I'll let someone else answer. The main thing you need to make sure is that none are classified as assault weapons.

And, you need to register all of the firearms with the CA DOJ within 60 days of moving here (or when the firearms arrive, if later).

Moisin Nagants are certainly fine to bring. SKSes are in general, but not the ones with a detachable magazine or a grenade launcher

In addition to no mags over 10 rds, handguns must also not have a threaded barrel.

Welcome to California, you will certainly enjoy the "Angeles shooting ranges " which are the best outdoor shooting ranges in the USA .

Coming from Wisconsin, you will miss your CCW courtesy of Scott Walker and the republican legislature .
You will also miss the civilized culture that permits private party transfers and of course the food !
You will be unpleasantly surprised the 1 st time you buy an expensive car or truck that has a huge tax and license fee.
