Can I sell shotgun ammo at garage sale?

I have a dozen boxes of 12 ga trap loads that I'd like to sell at a garage sale. Is this legal? I'm from Michigan and I'm conducting an estate sale for a recently deceased uncle. In Michigan we sell ammo at garage sales. But how about here in CA? Can I do it? Thank you! I did a search here for "ammo garage sale" before posting this and surprisingly came up empty. Sorry if I'm asking a very common question. My sale starts TOMORROW!

Why not post it here first? You may get lucky and not have to worry about it tomorrow.

Feel free to stop by 1012 Modoc St., Susanville to buy em up! : )

Thanks for the tip. It sounds like it's not against any major CA law.

You should be able to. Now the real question do you want the attention that it will bring, when someone doing their weekly garage sale deal trip calls the local PD?

It's legal. No different than me selling it to you in your own driveway.

we never had the problems in CA till the whiteys took over. We used to hunt, fish, roam, then they showed up and wanted to be civilized.............Ruined it for everyone!

Susanville cops shouldn't be a problem - Susanville is more like Nevada then California.

You also need to make sure that the buyer is not a prohibited person.

Requires him to reasonably know they are prohibited...
He could just ask.... "You got ID(if under easily identified age)? Are you prohibited?"
You make it sound like he has to call the FBI for a full check or something...

Yes, the question is, what is "using reasonable care"? Up to a court.

Factory loads shouldn't cause any issues.

I don't think you can sell reloaded ammo unless you have the proper license though.
