I know this thread is kind of old but it's a sticky so I thought I would ask. I've read some vague rumors about not being able to buy handguns in CA after Jan 1st, 2015. Then I saw something about micro stamping being required by manufacturers of handguns, and that none of them do it now and won't by 2015, making new handgun sales illegal. I found info like that from about 3 years ago, nothing really recent. If this is true I couldn't find nearly as much info as I thought I would, so I just wanted to know for sure. Thanks.

No handgun sales after 2015?

Unfounded rumor, though that's what the goofballs hope will happen.
There is nothing significant about 2015.
The 'microstamping' prevents guns from being added to the Roster. There is a lawsuit about that (see Litigation forum).
IF manufacturers do not change guns currently on the Roster, those may be sold so long as the manufacturers continue to pay the $200 annual fee for each one.
Off-Roster guns may still be sold from one CA resident to another.
But laws can be changed ...ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good! -

I guess I should have made a thread, but the mods did it for me
Thanks for the reply, my paranoia was running high I was trying to figure out how I could stock up on handguns and survive with no money until 2015. I really hope the laws do change, I'll try to do my part in the meantime.
Crisis averted!
...for now..Comment
