    ^^ same in Nevada.

Depending on what the customer has, I would be interested in purchasing 1-2 items. It's a simple dealer (AW permit) to dealer transfer or if the customer (executor) wants to deliver to a dealer in NV that works too.

we really need to publicize this. it is confiscation via registration. we have seen a few of these recently on this site alone.

you registered it? great! your kids become felons when you die. where is the "machine gun smiley" when you need it on mobile?!

Yup just another slow motion ban that if left unchecked will lead to a total ban. Slowly losing firearms in this manner. Slowly having the roster dwindle down in size. It's a ban. It's obvious.

The fact that things never get unregistered goes both ways. If you leave CA with your RAWs, but move back later, they remain continuously registered, and thus legal to bring back.

On the other hand, if some, now-legal, OLL was registered previously, then sold out of state, then sold to me, a third-party ignorant of the prior transaction history, I could be illegally buying a RAW and have no idea of its status until some LEO runs the serial numbers during a stop. An out of state FFL would have no reason to run it against the CA database before selling it to me either.

In this circumstance, should the DA decide to prosecute, the best I could hope for is jury nullification or a appeals court overturning the law, because I have definitely committed a crime--without an FFL there is no legal way for me to possess a RAW registered to another.

Depending on the decedent's estate planning documents, the executor or trustee (or perhaps trust protector) may have the authority to set up a trust governing how the gun is to be held out of state, for the benefit of the beneficiary(ies), with a friend or relative serving as special trustee for that weapon.
