    AB1263 and vendors

Since AB1263 passed, some vendors do not follow the law. They just have a blanket rule that parts must go thru an FFL.
You would think that companies lawyers could figure this out.

Or maybe they don't want to redo their system to accept an uploaded document. I'm sure not going to fault an out of state seller for not wanting to change their way of doing business, because of California stupidity.

One out of state seller told me they are already fighting several lawsuits from outside their state. Prudent risk management tells you to not bother with customers from blue states and cities.

Yes, California gun laws suck. But, every vendor I've tried to do buisness with either says NO California sales or must go thru FFL.
As far as uploading info, they would still have to upload the FFL info.
The vendor I was trying to purchase from already has my ID (both Ca ID and retired leo id) on file. But refuses to sell to California unless thru an FFL.

Ultimately, your business isn't worth risking their business and livelihood.

Patience being a virtue, periodic road trips are one way to get around this BS. Get out there, see the country, do your part to contribute to climate change, and buy whatever you want. If you are at a California gun store, make sure to look up at the camera and give them a big fook you.

It's easier to apply the most strict standard than to figure what each item requires.

Be careful, bringing any gun thing, like a gun barrel, back from out of state can be a crime.

AB1263 has to do with vendors/sellers requirements for shipping to buyers in California. Also restrictions on private persons making gun parts with a 3d printer/cnc machine.
Starting in July I believe, barrels will have to be sold in California thru an FFL. And must go thru a background check.
I see no restrictions on acquiring parts out of state and bringing them back to California. With the exception of possibly barrels.

That is my read as well. There is no provision in either bill (AB1263 or SB704) that addresses purchases made while out of state. It would take some serious legal gymnastics to consider crossing state lines as a transfer. However, I'm sure this will be addressed in future legislation.
