    Firearm storage on college property

How do you interpret laws when multiple sections overlap each other? I’m assuming you use a combination of the strictest restrictions?

I work on a college campus and have a current CCW. My intention would be to carry to and from work and be able to stop at a range after work. I also will respond at times to emergency repairs after hours and may be carrying when I get the call and living an hour away may not be practical to go home for storage first depending on where I am.

What I’ve found is section 26230 (A)(1) says firearms prohibited in any place listed in section 626.9

626.9 sub sections (H) and (I) list firearms loaded or unloaded prohibited unless written permission provided from college leadership.

Then section 26230 (A)(14) lists college and UC as a sensitive location. Then subsection (C) lists being able to store in sensitive locations. And subsection (E) says anywhere listed in (A)(14) cannot possess when driving across location like you can in all other sensitive locations so firearms would have to be locked up before entering property.

So how would I navigate this? Do I request permission to possess in my vehicle to follow 626.9? And no matter how much permission I’m able to get I’m limited to follow 26230 (E) and have it locked before entering the property?

I’ve stopped at the campus PD already and was told permission was only needed for storing inside buildings like an office. They stated since parking lots and roads are open to the public for non school related activities I didn’t need permission for my vehicle but even their web page contradicts this info.
