Intra Family Transfer with FSC Exemption

There are exemptions to the FSC if your a police officer or a CCW holder for example. CA DOJ lists a number of these exemptions and their exemption code.

How would one complete the Intra Family Transfer form if you have an FSC Exemption? The form asks for the FSC number, but no details are provided in the forms instructions for those exempt. Do you add the exempt code where it asks for the FSC number?
The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.

Yes, if you have a exemption code. At least that is the way I handled it.

In the FSC box put 999999, in the comments section put the reason and code for the exemption.

Whichever of these fit. You'll also have to upload a copy of your ID.

Why 999999 and not just add one of the X codes?

Is this all done through CFARs or the form on pdf?

That's the way DOJ says to do it through CFARS. As far as why, your guess is as good as mine. More than likely it has to do with needing to have 6 digits in the FSC box.

I haven't done a mailed in transfer is well over 10 years. I'd imagine they want it the same way though. Not that they have ever been consistent in what they ask for from us.

I've only done it through mail, I just wrote in CCW & CCW#. I do need to do some through CFARS so that's good to know
