WARNING, 4Chan might not be SFW (but /k/ is mostly SFW).

Something, something about original maker not in biz currently, and some fakes/copykats.

QRD on what this means for CA? If ruling is legit, how "durable" will it be for CA?

It has no effect on California, it only relates to the federal rule.

Reno May released a video on this subject seven days ago.

May says he does not recommend that anyone buy/keep one but he does paint a picture whereby some may want to test 16930(2)(a) depending on their preferred definitions of the terms.

Do we know if May is correct that CA has not brought any prosecution against those who bought/ had one in CA?

I hope know one tries to be a test case because I am not convinced that the current SCOTUS make up would give this one to us on 2A grounds.

Rare Breed's website discusses this topic in detail. Says it is a no go for us Californian's. Which is a bummer. I don't see them citing the specific PC, however. Maybe I missed it?

Are Forced Reset Triggers Legal in California? - Rare breed Trigger

My guess is that the issue is Penal Code 32900, based on this article about Binary Triggers. While there are differences between Binary Triggers and FRTs, and neither are specifically named in Penal Code 32900 according to the article, the issue is that they increase the rate of fire, and the language in the PC is significantly broad enough that it could easily be interpreted to cover things like a Binary Trigger, which I would imagine could be stretched to cover FRTs as well. Which, frankly, sucks if true.

For those looking for a fun video on what FRTs are, here is one from Garand Thumb. Fair warning, you are really gonna want one after watching this video. Note that when he says completely legal, he means at the federal level. Based on my very brief amount of research into this subject, it's not looking like it is legal here in California. However, please, please, please legal gurus prove this wrong. Because after watching the video below I really want one. Scratch that. I want at least 7.
