It's sad that I own 3 copies of this book as ca laws change frequently

The California Gun Laws: A Guide to State and Federal Firearm Regulations (2024 11th Edition) is said to be the bible and definitive source for information on the subject of gun laws in California. This tremendous resource is jam-packed with thousands of hours of legal research, all of which has been transcribed into a format that is easy to read and comprehend. Chock-full of legal and practical insights drawn from decades of experience, this book is a must-have for any California gun owner.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I consider this a must have. It is very well written. The electronic copy at $19.95 is a very good deal.
Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. So said somebody but not Mark Twain
"One argues to a judge, one does not argue with a judge." Me
"Never argue unless you are getting paid." CDAA

Damn, I really wish they had supplemental books to address changes if you own an older book but that'd be a nightmare for them to maintain.

I now understand why the law firm I worked for had sooooo many bookshelves of books.

It's possible to do that, if the book is loose-leaf. I had a gun-law manual from the late Peter Kasler where he issued a few updates that way. (Yes, same Kasler of 'Kasler list' assault weapons.)

I recall spending hours, a couple times a year, pulling out old pages from Air Force Technical Orders and inserting updates.

But I imagine there were many more TO editors for the Air Force than Chuck has in his org.
