    Dealer DROS fee cost

    Is the fee an FFL can charge you for the DROS/background check fixed as it used to be? If so, what is it currently?

    Thanks for any info! I'm trying to figure out what a gun purchased from an online auction will ACTUALLY cost me when the various fees and the sales tax are reckoned....

    Online guns = $37.19 dros + transfer fees (unlimited) + tax.

    In-store retail guns = $37.19 Dros, however, if any other fees and they have signage to let you know upfront, it appears they can charge whatever thay like.

    PPT = $37.19 + $10 only.

              It's always supposed to be 47.19 for PPT and dealer sales is 37.19 if I am not mistaken, anything higher than that and the dealer is just charging extra because they feel like it and not because it is mandatory. Do your homework well and call ahead to avoid paying these "extra fees".

                $37.19 for sales out of dealer inventory. The $10 extra for PPT is the dealers portion of the transfer.
