    CFLC-Related Questions

    Hello CalGuns,

    Some CFLC-related questions:

    1. "Shipment Invoice Number" on the CFLC page - is that the tracking # of the shipment, or is that a different number, like one the out-of-state FFL is supposed to make up? Like 0001 for their first purchase, then 0002?

    2. Can an out-of-state FFL that is registered with CFLC drive a gun into the state, and physically hand it over/transfer it to an in-state FFL? If so, I assume they need a CFLC letter first, and if so, what do they put in the "Shipment Invoice Number" slot?

Thanks for any help you can provide. I have an email out to CA DOJ CFLC but figured I may get a faster response here.

It's the invoice number of the gun being shipped

Yes you can drive it in, still have to generate a cflc though even face to face

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it!

So the invoice number is the out-of-state FFL store's internal number they use to track their sales? Like receipt # 0001, #0002, ...#0834? Sorry for being pedantic, I just want to make sure there is no specific format CA is expecting and am trying to make this easy for the FFL doing this.

Yes, it is their invoice number or receipt number or whatever internal number they use to track sales, process refunds etc.
