is a 1940-ish Browning Hi Power (made in Belgium) legal to have shipped to my FFL?

Can I buy - from out of state - a 1940s Belgium made Hi Power pistol, have it shipped to my FFL, and legally own it, here in the Great State of California?

    I believe they have a 13-round magazine, 9mm.

    thanks for the info -

Yes it is considered as. C&R. The magazine is a no no so that can not be imported. They are worth around $100 so do try to get some Monty out of the magazine.

Gun, yes. Mags, not unless they are blocked to 10 rounds or less. Make sure your FFL will accept the blocked mags, some are funny about such things. To make it easy on everbody, buy some mag blocks from https://www.magazineblocks.com/magento/ and a 10 round mag and send them to the seller. have the seller ship the gun to the FFL with the 10 rounder and mail you the blocked mags directly.

        Gun yes, magazine no.

However, just be sure the seller is OK with shipping to California first.

Even though it may be C&R, and fine with CA, really no matter what it is, it's very common on Gunbroker, Gunsamerica, Auction Arms (Gunauction.com) and the like for sellers to absolutely refuse shipping anything to California in any capacity.

See that a lot; many just hate California and when presented with the online form/process to become an "approved" out-of-state dealer shipping to CA, they just throw in the towel and come to the summary of "BS - NO!".

As others have said, the pistol is GTG because it is a C&R. The mag is not. You can use a middleman FFL like audiophil2, a Calguns member now located in AZ.

You can have the gun shipped to him and he will block the mag for you then ship it to your local FFL.

Here is a link to a post about this service.

With the value of the magazine alone it might be worth the cost. He is also good to use for those FFLs that will not ship to CA.

If you need a good FFL in the East Bay, I suggest UG Imports, another Calgunner. https://www.ugimports.com

He is located in Fremont and has reasonable transfer fees. He does transfers by appointments only and he is very fast and efficient.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?
