    Mag locking device

For mag-locked configuration where a device is used to separate the upper and lower, does the device need to be DOJ approved or any device is good to go as long as it functions per code requirements?

The DOJ does not approve such devices, period. They do not offer written opinions on the legality of such devices. They have acknowledged that some older mag-lock devices are compliant in court testimony, that is the best we get. And I think those were all mag-lock 1.0, not the current requirement.

It is up to each person, with or without advice from their own legal counsel, to evaluate their firearm and decide if it complies or not.

I designed my own device that works better than the king pin and is safer so you don't accidentally discharge and possibly cause harm. But thank you for the suggestion.
