Question about renting a pistol at a range

If you own a rifle but not a pistol can, can you rent a pistol at a range by yourself. Cause at a gunshop someone told me you have to own a gun to rent a pistol by yourself, but I don't know if he said you have to own a handgun, or just any firearm.

Many ranges require two people when renting a gun. There has been too many suicides by single renters.

Since your hiding location hard to help. Some ranges won't rent unless you are with another person. What range?nWhy don't you call local range to get answers.?

Make sure you tell them you are bringing the rifle to shoot when you call.

Most ranges will rent to a single shooter as long a you bring your own "gun".
I have not heard one way or another that the other gun must also be a handgun.

Some ranges do in fact require you to bring a HANDGUN if you want to rent a gun. They will not rent to you if you bring a long gun. We just had another forum member find this out in person the hard way.

There is no LAW that requires any of this, so you will have to call the range you want to visit and ask them what their policy is. Different ranges have different policies.

The range said they let you rent pistols without another person there. Which is awesome so I can test a couple pistols to decide what i want to buy as my first pistol.

Bring one if you want to rent one.

Most ranges that I have gone to require you to bring either your own firearm or another person along to shoot with you if you want to rent firearms.

OP its not that you need to own a gun, you need to *bring* a gun or a friend
the assumption being that you won't off yourself in front of a friend, and if you
have a gun you don't need to rent one for that purpose
