    CFARS Help - fixed stock

I finally got an update to my CFARS. They returned my application and I need some help in how to respond.

I have an FN Scar and I have fixed the stock so it cannot fold. The stock can still telescope, but it is over the minimum required length in the shortest position. I thought this was allowed, but I am not sure how to respond.

They asked me to check off the telescoping box, does this create a problem for me?

    I appreciate the responses.... thanks.

Checking telescoping stock is what you need to do since it does telescope. As long as it is over 30" in shortest configuration, you'll be fine. Make sure you comment that the stock is pinned and will not fold.

To save some internet ping pong game time

Take an overall picture of the rifle with the trigger length adjustment in the shortest possible position and replace the overall picture with this one and a tape measure showing it is over 30" long.

        In the comments add
-Folding stock feature disabled by (pinning, welding, bolting-requiring tools to remove, your actual method)
-Trigger length adjustment still functional (telescoping scope according to CFARS), overall length in shortest possible configuration is over 30" as shown in the overall picture.

You may or many not be required to do all of this before the Ping-Pong is done but that about covers everything that has been asked from folks who went through what you are going through.

        GOOD LUCK!

I put “stock is internally pinned and cannot fold” into my submission.

This was in response to their request of “fold the stock and measure the rifle in its shortest configuration” sneaky DOJ lol.

State that the rifle is beyond 30 inches in OAL with the stock collapsed and you’re good. The OAL you listed should have been measured in the shortest possible length. Also checking that box for telescoping stock is how I submitted and I had no problems. Got my papers to prove it
