Hey, y'all.
I was just chatting with a friend about finding additional mags for my Springfield 1911 .45ACP and he said to get Wilson Combat mags. The ones I found were 8 rnd mags and he said that he remembers reading somewhere that any magazine extending passed the frame of a pistol is illegal in CA....even if it's 10 rounds or under.
My question is ..... which one is it and what law specifically covers it???
A) 10 rounds are 10 rounds, regards of magazine size.
or
B) Cannot extend passed the frame of the firearm, even if the magazine's capacity is under 10 rounds.
I did do some searching and I found a thread that several people stated the former, but no CA Penal Code was linked/quoted....which is why I'm here. To get confirmation of one or the other.
PS : I apologize to fellow Calgunners and mods if this has been asked before. I just couldn't find out one way or the other WITH a law being quoted. Either on here or with Google. I only found the "10 round mag limitation" laws, but no reference to 10 rnds (or under) mags extending passed the frame of a pistol.
Thank you all for you time.
