Can you get in any legal issues if you volreg a lower marked multi but check marked 5.56? The barrel does say 5.56 on it

No. In fact, doj is kicking back volregs asking for the caliber on multi marked guns.

With almost every doj kickback they prove they have no idea what they are doing.

Is this something you heard or read on the internet?
I've done SEVERAL Volregs, pistol AND rifle as MULTI with 0 issues.
It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom.

If I remember correctly, and take that for what it's worth, there have been a few people here on Calguns that attempted to Mark multi-caliber and have been kicked back. However I don't recall if it was for the voluntary registration or the assault weapon registration.

My daughter self registration got kick back for not having a caliber marked on a multiple mark lower.

My ar pistol got kicked back because I marked barrel shroud but not hand guard or grip around barrel which was a barrel shroud.

No they do not know what they are doing.

The ones I had marked multi went thru with no problems checking the multi box. The one factory receiver with no caliber marking on it gave me trouble as the upper and barrel on that one also had no caliber marked (they where a different brand than the lower). After a few pics and back and forth they finally excepted that one too.

As for kickbacks, the DOJ rejected my wife's BBAW co registration because she listed the place of manufacture as US when I had listed it as CA when I did the original registration. When I called the DOJ I stated that the last time I looked CA was in the US so her submittal was, in fact, correct despite what the AG and the CA legislature may think. My thoughts are to tell the AG to F himself.
