If you're present in California you're subject to California law.
"It is long been a principle of ours that one is no more armed because he has possession of a firearm than he is a musician because he owns a piano. There is no point in having a gun if you are not capable of using it skillfully." -- Jeff Cooper

Reinstall your blocks on those mags then you can bring them to CA.

There is a kind of consensus that with the withdrawl on how to make your magazine gender neutral that anything goes (blocks, rivets, epoxy, etc). As such I prefer the block. My preference though is to also add the rivet. Can be nothing more than a piece of metal or a thin piece of wood. Such is acceptable in your shotgun for reducing capacity while hunting.

I do expect that magazines will start having a length requirement (must be shorter than 3" or such nonsense). They will call those standard capacity magazines those "extra long magazines made for nothing but rape, pillage, and carnage used to prolong death and destruction"

I always die a little inside every time I cross the Colorado trickle heading West.
