Rimfire handguns were never exempt from any of CA laws.
Rimfire rifles are exempt from CA assault weapons laws for rifles.
Rimfire handguns must comply with CA unsafe handgun laws, CA assault weapons laws, CA SBR laws, and CA self-made/assembled laws.
Starting 07-01-2018, a self-made/assembled firearm with a polymer receiver must have a CA DOJ issued serial number engraved on 3.7oz of type 17-4 PH stainless steel that is embedded in the receiver is such a manner that removal will destroy or significantly damage the receiver. [PC 29180(b)(2)(B)]
None of the Polymer80 receivers meets the stainless steel requirement, so any firearm made from those receivers are inherently illegal in CA.
^Exemptions for those made and voluntarily registered with CA DOJ before 07-01-2018. [PC 29181(c)]Last edited by Quiet; 07-20-2018, 11:51 PM.sigpic
