Anyone have a phone number to reach an actual human being at Ca DOJ BOF?

I'm trying to contact CA DOJ BOF regarding the correct filling out of a form via the CFARS system and the 916-227-7527 is nothing but a damn automated run around. There is no way to get a human being on that phone number.

    Any suggestions??

EDIT: it has nothing to do with the current CFAR issues or assault weapon registration nonsense.

What form? If you navigate the menus correctly you can sometimes find a human.

Law Enforcement Gun Release Application. I need to get the correct "code/facility" for the facility where I am trying to get firearms recovered from. I know they are at the main DOJ BOF in Sacramento, but the CFAR system has a dropdown menu with a dozen or so options that are not clearly labeled.

Any idea how to get a human on that number. It always gives me circles no matter what I try.

Anyone who answers a phone at CA DOJ BOF may very likely be incompetent and/or ignorant of CA Gun Law and DOJ bureaucratic procedures. There are countless cases here on CalGuns of the bizarre and false information given out by the DOJ over the phone.

The DOJ bureaucracy is not supposed to assist the public, they are there to make it more difficult and legally risky to be a CA gun owner.

I'm not looking for legal advice or proper procedure just a simple code for a form.

Right now I'd settle for just getting a hold of someone at DOJ BOF.

Try up or down one or two numbers. It all goes to the same building.

I was able to get my COE nonsense straightened out that way.

You would expect this to be simple and easy. And maybe you'll get lucky and get a holt of someone who can help you. History has shown that even if you get through to a human there is no guarantee of competent or useful service.

Try calling any other California agency. Most are on automation now.

I've called the CA DOJ number listed on their website and tried every single prompt possible. The only one that I consistently get a person to answer is the AW Registration prompt. I've called several times, including 2 days before the registration closure and have always gotten the same female person to answer. I always call at 8am right when they open.

This may not be the department you want, but at least you will get a person and she's always been extremely helpful with any questions I've had.
