DOJ gave me an incomplete for my bullpup rifle, and the reason was to "...submit a clear photo of [my] firearm (from stock to barrel) laying down on a flat surface with a tape measure above it". For those who have submitted pictures with the required tape measure and have received DOJ approvals, would it be either Method 1 or 2 below? I thank everyone in advance for your help with this.
(Method 1) Lay the firearm on the ground, lay tape measure on top of the gun receiver, then extend tape measure from end of stock to the tip of barrel?
Or...
(Method 2) Lay tape measure on the same flat surface/plane as the gun, offset from the barrel axis by a few inches above the gun, and then extend tape measure from end of stock to tip of barrel?
I have already taken a picture per Method 1, but felt I should reach out to others so I don't get another DOJ kickback.
