My father is looking for legal advice to alleviate his fears of California's aggressive gun laws and handgun reporting requirments.
In the mid 1980's, he purchased a revolver from a San Bernardino county sheriff's deputy.
In the late 1980's he moved to Arizona and then back to California in the early 1990's.
He is worried that he did not re-report the pistol in possession upon returning to California within 60 days, as is the current statute. I do not know when that statute was put in place. He is also worried that if he reports it now and does the $19 form, he would open himself up to a violation of the law for the delay (of over 25 years). I submitted that same form myself 20 years after the fact without issue.
If there are any CalGuns licensed attorney's that would like to comment and/or have a conversation with him for a fee, please let me know.
I suspect he has zero jeopardy, but I am his son and well, you know how dad's value advice from sons. The value of my input would get you no closer to a cup of coffee!
Thanks in advance.
