Transporting a firearm. Is this legal?

I've read the description for legally transporting handguns on the DOJ site but I'm still not sure if what I want to do is legal.

I have a service appointment for my car and it will take 2-3 hours.

Can I carry my unloaded, locked in a case handguns into the service area of the dealership and then have the dealer's shuttle service drop me and my guns off at the nearby range so that I can shoot while I wait for my car to be serviced?

It says on the DOJ site:" Furthermore, the handgun must be carried directly to or from any motor vehicle for any lawful purpose and, while being carried must be contained within a locked container."

Is what I'm doing fall under the definition of a lawful purpose?

    Thanks

    Yes.

Generally legal to take guns in vehicles anywhere.

Carrying your gun to the car is a 'lawful purpose', even if the car is not yours.

      Are these registered assault weapons?
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

          Thanks for replying!

These would be California compliant hand guns.
Librarian- I would also be taking my guns into the dealership from my car for several minutes before returning to dealer’s car.

          Still all good there?

          Thanks!

No worse than waiting for Uber to pick you up. Have a nice time at the range.
