    Shipping question

I need to ship my rifle back to CMP for Gunsmithing. The CMP doesn't state in their requirements whether the hard plastic case requires a key lock. Fedex was also unclear. What do you guys say?

If you lock the case how are they going to open it on the other end without the key? Locking it and sending the key separately just sounds like a recipe for disaster with the key being lost somewhere in the process. Find a box put the case in the box seal it and ship.

Use combo lock if necessary and send combo to them. But no reason for that if you seal in box and insure. The bad guy will steal whole box not the firearm out of it. Paranoia strikes again. Use usps and insure it and send priority mail.

I have the combo lock but would prefer to send without it. But I need to find out for sure if a lock is unnecessary. The lock is only to ensure I'm legal cause who can keep track of all the CA regulations. I was able to make an expandable box work so nobody should know what's in there. CMP wants to go Fedex. Thanks guys.
