Looking for input on the nuances of a freshly registered AR

    Mag magnet good to go?
30 round mags good to go?
Ive haven't seen these topics explicitly covered but by my reading of the law and regs they both seem ok. Am I correct?

    Registered as what?
(depending on the circumstances an AR type firearm can be registered as any of the below)

    As a firearm?

    As an assault weapon?

    As a dangerous weapon?

CA has varying types of registration. With each type having their own specific set of regulations.

Registered as an assault weapon with a bullet button. Feels bad that I have to clarify which specific infringements I'm dealing with.

There are no CA laws/regulations that would prohibit the use of a large capacity magazine in a RAW.

It is unknown if the installation of a magnet to a "bullet button" style magazine lock would be considered altering or changing the release mechanism.

CA regulations prohibits "any alteration to the release mechanism" of a RAW with a "bullet button" style magazine lock. [11 CCR 5477(a)]
        ^Exemptions for...
... repairing the "bullet button" style magazine lock or replacing it with a similar "bullet button" style magazine lock. [11 CCR 5477(b)]
... removing it during the process to deregister it as an assault weapon. [11 CCR 5477(c)]

First, I do not share your apparent bias or disrespect toward women.

Next, I say: Of course, it is already a done deal. I am not will to put my 2A rights at risk and then become someone's b***h in a state prison. So, for $15 I take no risk from now until I become and ID resident, at which time my ARs will be transformed into modern sporting rifles (AKA pre 2000 AWs in CA) with regular mag releases and 30 rnd mags.

Sign up and expect the rug to get pulled from under your feet now that they got you in their crosshairs. Wait until the Gav gets ahold of those registrations.
