So am I violation the law by bring my ammo into California when I return from Oregon? Don't mean to hijack the thread. Others may be in my situation. I will remain a California resident for some time due to real estate issues.
If purchase in California, then you are free to move the ammo across state lines. I have no idea how they are going to prove you did not buy it in CA. Even receipts don't have lot numbers. WWB bought in OR is the same as WWB bought in CA. I would just keep you CA receipts if your worried about it.

What about someone who has moved out of state and changed residency, yet wishes to return to visit family members? In other words, a resident of another state visiting California? Can that person bring ammo with them?

Why would you blab about it? It's not like they search you at the border. Yet...

My guess is it will be like the "All vehicles towing MAX 55mph" law, I have never seen anyone towing a trailer or RV pulled over anywhere in California. Who's checking anyway and I have no receipts for ammo purchased 4 or 5 years ago that I have yet to shoot.

                You can bet they do.

Speaking of billboards... 6-12 months ago, every time I'd drive from AZ to CA - I'd see billboards for pot (about 30-50 miles in I think)... Now the same area, no more pot boards - they are now drug addiction help billboards... in the same exact area

I never understand the CA plate thing... I don't know if they are proud to be from CA, or just don't know the negative stigma (probably both) - I hate seeing them.

I got AZ plates as soon as I moved. I didn't want anyone knowing where I was from.

I even backed into the garage for the first week so neighbors didn't see CA plate when door was open. I never, ever used a front plate out there - dumbest law ever... They don't even issues two plates here.
