    AR Pistol in 22LR

It is my understanding that a rimfire AR pistol falls under the AW laws. This means one would have to register the pistol as an AW and nobody under the age of 18 would be allowed to shoot it. There are no work arounds, like fixed mag. Is this correct?

    Thanks,

A 10rd fixed magazine pistol can have evil features and not be an AW.

One evil feature is not having the mag in the pistol grip, which is impossible to be featureless.. There are only 2 options, register or use a fixed mag. That the previous poster mentioned.

        edited for clarity

And this is what I am using on my AR pistols to stay legal and not register:

Pop that pistol lower off and then it can be a SBR quickly. I don't see how Excremento will let that be.

Jimi Jah, you are correct in that a pistol upper could fit a rifle lower. At that point, CA is the least of your worries. You have now broken federal law with a SBR! This is NOT what I am trying to do.

I found an updated flow chart for the new BBAW. This shows fixed mag is OK to prevent AW registration. For some reason I thought that the ability to accept a mag outside of the pistol grip made it a de facto AW.

Only if it accepts detachable mags outside the grip. As mentioned there are two legal ways to keep an AR pistol ( of any caliber, rimfire does not gain you anything with a pistol): 1) fixed magazine or 2) register as an AW with a bullet button.

My 7.5" has a fixed mag. My .22LR AR lower doubles for 5.56 uses. It's featureless to avoid any issues here.
