New M1a - is this a pistol grip or not?

I note that this has the SA CA-OK "muzzle brake" but I'm not sure if the stock will pass muster. Does anyone know?

Does it have a fixed magazine?

Very likely yes, that's a pistol grip.
Pistol Grip, conspicuously protruding -A grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top of the exposed portion of the trigger while firing.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Yes. If you look at SA's website they say this iteration of the rifle is not CA-friendly.

          On the Springfield Armory website...

For California Residents: A CA legal version of the M1A 6.5 Creedmoor is available with a California-approved muzzle brake and non-adjustable stock.

          M1A Loaded - 6.5 Creedmoor . CA legal

Makes sense (as much as the whole situation can) but I do wonder why they bothered putting the CA compliant muzzle device on it.

            Thanks all.

They only have two muzzle device designs, their standard muzzle brake and their standard flash suppressor.

Maybe they thought the muzzle brake woud be better suited for a long range target rifle than a flash suppressor.

Or they figure adding the muzzle brake would make it legal in States (like CT, MA, MD, NJ) that ban flash suppressors on centerfire rifles.

Yeah if they made that in 308 I'd probably buy one to go w/ my shiny new scout 16, but all the ones I see listed on their site are sporting CA non-compliant muzzle devices.

I didn't see that on the SA site - thanks!

Pistol Grip, conspicuously protruding -A grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top of the exposed portion of the trigger while firing.

It doesn't say the exposed portion of the trigger has to be original to the receiver or permanent...someone needs to make trigger covers and longer triggers, for this and the ar platform.

Whose hand? I have pretty big paws ...

I'll probably just go for the CA version of the m21 I guess.
