I'm a Nevada resident who often goes back home to Orange County to visit family and go shooting. With the new AW laws in place, I have been trying to figure out how to make my guns CA legal, so I can bring them with me to shoot.
My most challenging gun to make CA legal is my mp5 clone. I have been thinking about using the Franklin Armory DFM mag lock for HK's, but I haven't been able to find very much information on them, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience and could help me out. Looking at one of the videos that I could find on the DFM mag lock, it looks like you would need to take the end cap and trigger housing off each time you wanted to put in a fresh mag. Since this would be a pain in the butt to do every time, can you instead lock the bolt back and load the rounds via the ejection port, similar to how the MEAN Arms side loader loads rounds into the AR-15 via the ejection port?
Additionally, I also am trying to keep my guns so that they are CA compliant, but easily restored back to original condition once I am back in Nevada. Can the DFM be easily removed so I can restore my mp5 clone back to the way it was?
