    Visiting Ca

Hello everybody. I am a Florida resident, with a concealed carry permit from FL.
I am visiting in Ca now.
    I have some questions please

    1) Will I have any problems with the law if there will be a situation where I should use my handgun on my property in California (in self defence)?

    2) Can I bring my gun to a shooting range here in Ca?

    Thank you for responses!

    1. Too many variables to give you a definitive answer. You are allowed to defend yourself, or another.

    2. You can go to a range to shoot. Remember, your Florida carry permit is not valid in California. Carry it unloaded to the range in a locked case (not always required but the safest way to avoid problems) and have fun. No magazines over 10 rounds unless you lawfully possessed them in California before 01/01/2000

California laws are convoluted and confusing. There is a lot of valuable info in the forums. Welcome to the People's Republic of Kalifornistan, where you lose Constitutional Rights by crossing the state line.

      Thanks for the answer!

I was really concerned if I can go to a range or it's better just have a gun at home and not take it out...
My handgun is 'California approved'. Just have Florida license and permit from FL...didn't even know that I could go to a range here with out of state license...

Was just concerned if it's ok to transport a handgun from my apt to a gun range (if no Ca license)

Is it a law that if you own guns or CCW that you have to? OP, just so you know, you don't have to have self defense insurance to shoot guns in California or use a gun in self defense. Sure, it would be nice to have but not required.

You don't need insurance. Some think it worth having and some do not. Anyway, the subject is off topic for How CA Law Apply forum. Google it and you will find numerous forums discussing what it is, if it is insurance, is it worth while, and which is the best plan.
