Has to be featureless, or use one of the new design magazine locks that require the upper to be broken open to drop the mag.

Until the ARMagLock and Patriot Mag Release are a little more set in stone.. One should be okay going Featureless for the time being?

Think about it this way... There has always been an AW ban in CA for many years. The only thing that had changed is that now rifles with last years maglocks or "bullet buttons" are now illegal to buy, build, sell or bring into the state. So as long as you build a rifle that doesnt have any of the features that make it an AW you are ok. The features have always been the same. The bullet button was a way to be compliant without sacrificing any of the features. Now you just cant do it that way, the features have always been banned.

Well said brotha man! I guess I got confused because when I went into Orange County Amo Bros they weren't even selling Featureless rifles I got the impression they were uneasy with the new regs.. but what your saying makes sense!

Yes a lot of FFLs are not selling stripped receivers or featureless rifles but more and more are. There are several near me that are now but they do have a big disclaimer that you cant build it using a bullet button like before.
