the hour extra in my case was because clocks were set back during the week of daylight savings. This meant if I started the DROS on friday, and clocks jumped an hour that sunday, then 10 days later I would have only waited 239 hours. they added the hour to make it an even 240, or as they say to me "ten 24-hour periods"

I do agree after the 2nd, 3rd or 12th firearm the "10-day cool-off" idea is mute, and the "we need 10 days for the background check" argument is grossly false in today's world of instant data...

I know in other states it varies, but thats just what we get to live with out here. I am just happy there are still gun stores that carry something other than pellets and BB's.......

      Not so fast

Just some observations . . . . 10 CALENDAR days 240 hours. A casual web search does not specify this. This site does - thank you. Comment made at least twice about the 240 date and time on the DROS. In my case I did not leave the store with a DROS. I left with 3 pieces of paper, none of which are labeled DROS, Two small receipts, one larger one that is the credit card copy customer. An 8 1/2 x 11-inch receipt. No DROS, nowhere saying what date and time the weapon may be relinquished to the customer. Only the date and time sold. This might mislead some people looking here for exact specific information. The store records and keeps the 240 hour date, not the customer.
This isn't stupid or dumb just mildly confusing to someone that doesn't buy weapons frequently. Just clearing that up.

This Thread is more than 449 days old. It is very likely that it does not need any further discussion and thus bumping it serves no purpose. - uh No
If you still feel it is necessary to make a new reply, you can still do so though.
I am aware that this Thread is rather old but I still want to make a reply.

Perhaps it is just the store you went to, I have never had to request a copy of the pending DROS, it has always been given with my receipts. Now when I pick up, I usually request a copy of the approved DROS, only once or twice have they offered without me asking, and they usually say it's not needed, blah, blah, blah....sorry, but I like paper trails.

The store is an established Brick and mortar, been around forever with an excellent reputation. They were VERY helpful finding my rifle, (left hand model specialty low volume manufacturer) saving me money and getting an order shipped and in stock at the store virtually overnight . But, they did say "you can get your gun on Monday.' That was May 1 at 12:48 hrs. 10 days is may 11th at 12:49 hrs. Monday is May 14 2018. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for your comments.
