    9mm conversion in 2017

Forgive me if this has been answered already. I searched, but could not find the answer.

If I have a RAW in 2017, am I allowed to use a conversion kit on said RAW to turn it into a 9mm for a day of cheaper range shooting, and then restore it back to it's original registered configuration? For that matter, am I allowed to trade out/upgrade any part of the rifle after 2016?

Specific example: could I register, say, a Tavor X-95 (purchased in 2016) in 2017, and then purchase a 9mm conversion kit for it and legally use it on that RAW in 2017 and beyond?

    Thank you!

Interesting. I had some in another thread saying they were rushing to finish their builds and be finalized with everything before jan 1st and they got mad that i was shaking my head laughing.
