    See the thread title change.

Such a plan looks like an illegal transfer from a CA resident to an OK resident without 'benefit of FFL'; the Feds might call such a thing worthy of 5 years in Federal prison.

Guns are different from other small valuables.

Consult your own lawyer to be sure, but some of us at Calguns suspect that might work if the guns were stored so nephew (and everyone except you) has no access to them.

Agree with Librarian that this 'smells bad' - that is, an illegal interstate transfer without
      benefit of intermediating FFL.

Way around this: separate gun safe with key/combo that only you have or know and a
rental agreement for use of such or for the relevant space occupied by the safe.

ATF doesn't mind people "sending guns to themselves in care of..." in specifically-addressed
packages [to avoid other transit drama] and in theory leaving the package [locked case, left
wrapped/addressed to you along with "in care of" text] might convey significant benefits for
a very short-term situation. However, I worry it would not provide security and may smell
      bad for longer term storage.

If you plan on residing there permanently and they remain yours and you store in a safe that you have access alone there is no issue with that. People do it all the time that have homes in other states with safes. . Plus you said you are moving there in 6 months. That's what we call a temporary storage.

I can legally ship my weapons to my cousin in Oregon or my other home in Oregon and she can hold them until I move there in 90 days. They are my firearms and they are a legal type of firearm in the state of Oregon. They are not being sold or they are not being given to a relative. Plus it's my god damn safe and I have the only set of keys for it. I can argue this all day long to atf or Oregon state police which I have relatives that work for them. If its your house and safe it's legal period.
So if you have an apartment just spend $1000 for a safe and ship them to your other residence with your own second safe. Lol

Nice to see I have some folks blocked!! Always a good thing. Lmfao.
