    New ammo regs

Requiring a permit, no personal sales to friends, no mail order, no purchasing out of state etc.... When does it go into effect? I have tried searches and found nothing definitive on the upcoming ammo restrictions. Thanks.

    AFAIK...

If Prop 63 passes this November (it's on the ballot, vote no on it), then it goes into effect on 01-01-2018.

If Prop 63 does not pass, then it goes into effect on 01-01-2019.

Of course, there's even time this session (though not much) for the Phantoms of the Legislature to dip in their oars and change things, as well as the next legislative session.

They should be done, but following their own rules seems not to be a strength ...
Aug. 19 Last day to amend on the Floor (J.R. 61(b)(16)).

Aug. 31 Last day for each house to pass bills, except bills that take effect immediately or bills in Extraordinary Session (Art. IV, Sec. 10(c), J.R. 61(b)(17)).

Final Recess begins upon adjournment (J.R. 51(b)(3)).

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Thank you Quiet and Librarian. As William Bendix would say on The Life of Riley, "What a predicament this is!". There, I've dated myself.
