    Shipping Non-Compliant AR to California

I found an AR at Brownells that I would like to purchase, it is not a California (No BB) In speaking with them I asked if it could be shipped to an FFL that has the ability to install the BB, on Brownells part I was told, that would be acceptable, however when I call my local FFL I am told that it is illegal to ship a non compliant AR to California?

Has anyone had any experience with this type of issue? Surely there must be a simple fix?

CA-DOJ is reported to be telling FFLs that such in-CA conversions are a violation of the terms of their 'assault weapon permits'.

Some FFLs are allowed to do the conversion if they have the appropriate license. If you're in the Bay Area, there are some places you can go...

I thought as long as the FFL as an AW license/permit they can do the conversion in CA

CA DOJ BOF is now prohibiting that.
They are saying that it is beyond the scope of the good cause for issuance of the assault weapons permit.

Under CA laws/regulations, any activity that goes beyond the scope of the good cause for issuance is grounds for the permit to be revoked and all of the weapons allowed under the permit to be confiscated.

I'm in the process of getting a non-BB AR into CA through my local gun shop - Faith Armory. I think they also have a branch in TX so they first had it shipped there to install the BB and then sent to Temecula where it's currently in the last couple of days in jail. It's an FN tactical carbine. [emoji851]

Seems like that would work in your situation.
