Can I own a signal cannon?

Is it legal to own/fire a signal cannon? I am looking at the Winchester 10ga. Signal Cannon.

While not an answer to the question of their legality, I would offer this bit of nostalgia. Back in the early 1960's the cannon pictured was used as a model for a high school machine shop class project. Yes right here in California. No kidding, the student could build a fully functional blank firing signal cannon. Times, how they change.

        AFAIK...

Blackpowder signal cannons are CA legal.

The "Deluxe Chrome Winchester Cannon" in the link is not CA legal because it is a device that can shoot a shotgun shell and has a barrel length of less than 18", which makes it a SBS under CA laws [PC 17180].
