2 DROS Same Time?

Just a quick question about the background check and DROS:

1. Can I start a PPT DROS for a pistol at the same time as I'm starting a DROS for a pistol from a retailer?
2. What about DROS for rifle same time as DROS for pistol?

1 in 30 rule for pistol only applies to retailers. You can PPT as many handguns as you want but only one from a retailer per month. Can they go on the same form? I have no clue. I'm sure an ffl will chime in.

Yes, you can DROS a rifle and pistol at the same time. I believe you actually save fees by paying one DROS fee for multiple firearms. Again This is the way I understand it. Wait for an FFL to come into the discussion to confirm or deny.

Sapperforward got it - handgun 1-in-30 applies only to guns purchased from a dealer (and, at an FFL inside the City of LA, all handgun purchases).

Otherwise, the number of active purchases is limited only by your wallet and physical attributes such as storage space.

Unless you buy both inside the City of LA, yes.

Actually, I don't know the detail of how City of LA gets its info; certainly 'both' will trip LA's rule. It might be that PPT-not-LA first, from-dealer-in LA second would also trip it.

Yes you can combine a pistol buy via PPT (as many as you want) and a pistol buy via purchase from dealer inventory on the same DROS. Just be sure it has been 30 days since your last pistol purchase from dealer inventory, and don't be in the city of LA. You will pay $25 DROS plus $10 for each PPT firearm.

I have combined pistol PPTs from multiple sellers along with a pistol from dealer inventory and a long gun from dealer inventory, on a single DROS.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I started a PPT dros for a handgun Friday and I'm looking to start another one for a handgun tomorrow. I wasn't sure either. This makes me a happy camper. Thanks for the thread op and the answers guys.

If there is a wiki which shows "unique" county and city firearms laws can you point me to it? This was a new one to me.

If there isn't one perhaps, perhaps it could somehow be compiled (?).

The problem is 58 counties, about 600 cities, and something like 100 districts and special agencies which have the statutory authority to protect their own property and facilities.

As an example, try to find the authority of the California State Fair in Sacramento to deny licensed CCW.
