Good to hear you figured it out; and good luck with the final stretch.

OP. Think very carefully about responding and what you do from here. This thread could easily cause some unfriendly people to come knocking on your door.

I'm an FFL that sees these things from my and the customer's view as well as that of the DOJ.

Assuming this is real and you're not a DOJ or other plant trying to solicit illegal advise from this community, it is more than not smart to make these posts which include statements and pictures of firearms you have stated you currently have in your possession. A felony as I see it.

I recently received exactly the same denial for one of my customers and the letter he received stated "Other" as well.

The notification I received was titled "PURCHASER PROHIBITED DO NOT RELEASE THE FIREARM". It goes on to say..."records indicate the above purchaser is not eligible to own/ possess firearms".. It goes on to say I as the dealer are required to make form BOF 110 available to the purchaser which is a power of attorney for the relinquishment of the firearms you (the customer) currently have in your control, if any.

So, Turner's should have received the same notification and should have provided you this form and the notification.

In a nut shell, unless and until this is resolved, the state would consider you to be a prohibited person and committing a felony for having any firearms in your control. This most likely includes the possession of ammunition as well.

The above post if true has given them what amounts to evidence and an admission that you are wilfully committing a felony.

I'm not advising you to edit/delete any information you have posted above which one can do, but I suggest you strictly follow what is in BOF 110 and not incriminate yourself on a public forum.

Now, I've also seen the letters the customer gets from the DOJ which essentially makes a more benign statement like "Firearm Denial"... ~ there may be some mistake, but you can send in the livescan request... This may come across to say you just can't get this new firearm and doesn't even imply you can't have any.

That, coupled with the possibility Turner's didn't provide you the notice I described above may give you the plausible deniability that you can possess firearms..., but you likely can't in their eyes and they won't consider that to be a good excuse.

Note on the DOJ: It is what it is, they see things in black and white. Thought "Other" for a "Felony conviction" does not jive in my head. They will not talk to you or the dealer on the phone about it. They will likely not bend over backwards to walk you through to resolve this. You may need to have the other state record corrected and get the FBI to correct it in their records (getting an PIN number from them may help to put on a DROS in the comment field), then either try the DROS again or do an eligibility check with the DOJ before trying.

Since I'm in the process of getting a firearm. My question is. Does the dealer call you right away once they hear you are denied or what the 10 until you show up? For me since I have a pass i'm very nerous about getting denied. I don't have any felony but ran into trouble with the law regarding driving record. But that's almost like 20 years ago. Since then i haven't got in trouble at all.

Some will call and some will wait until you show up. If you have any question at all - you should call the FFL before you go.

And not good to bump an old thread with a new question.
