    Transfer from another state question

    I have a friend that used to live in Cali and next month they'll be flying in from texas can they ppt a firearms that they bought in TX

    He can transfer firearms to a California resident if they do the transaction through a California licensed dealer (FFL). If the seller doesn't have a valid California driver's license or ID from the California DMV or military permanent duty station orders then the dealer will have to process it as a regular dealer transfer and not as a "private party transfer". That means any handguns would have to be on the Roster or exempt from the Roster. It also means the dealer can charge whatever he wants to do the transfer because he won't be restricted by the $35 PPT limit. Dealers can also refuse to do such transfers, so you might have to shop around.

      Be sure they are 100% familiar with the CA laws when bringing a firearm into CA also.

      Wouldn't want them to accidentally commit a felony by importing a large capacity magazine, or an assault weapon.
